NTACT:C and the Transition Coalition have created a short course for you to help YOUTH get CONNECTED!

Take this short course to:

  • strengthen meaningful youth engagement in your program
  • create conditions where youth feel seen, heard, valued, and connected
  • support youth voice, choice, advocacy, and decision-making
  • move beyond participation toward authentic youth leadership
  • earn a certificate of completion for 20 hours of training

  • Designed for secondary educators, VR professionals, transition partners, and others who support youth with disabilities.

What's the commitment?

  • Online and asynchronous, so no meetings
  • 4 weeks, with one unit topic per week
  • Self-directed on Canvas LMS
  • Practical activities you can apply within your program

What content is covered?

  • Understanding youth selfhood, belonging, and lived experience
  • Building trust-based relationships with youth
  • Centering youth joy, strengths, and voice
  • Creating multiple ways for youth to participate, contribute, and lead
  • Strengthening support networks and community connections
  • Identifying program conditions that support or limit meaningful youth engagement
  • Practical tools, actionable strategies, and free resources
