About this Event

The webinar will provide an introduction to Main Street, a new model of inclusive housing and community engagement located in Rockville, Maryland, which was founded on the principles of affordability, accessibility, inclusivity and choice.

Main Street leadership and University of Maryland researchers will discuss insights gained from their research partnership and through Main Street’s evaluation of its membership and programming. Voices from Main Street residents and members will share how Main Street offers a solution to the challenges that transitioning young adults face when leaving the school system.

Training Objectives:

  • Identify the key components of the innovative Main Street model of inclusive and affordable housing and member-based community engagement that offers choice, connection and opportunity to residents and non-residents of all abilities.
  • Explain what research and evaluation shows about the impact of affordable, inclusive housing that is deeply connected to community.
  • Consider how research and evaluation can inform practice and further development of solutions for transitioning young adults.
