About this Event

This interactive Watch Party will highlight the newly released NTACT:C resource Locating and Re-Engaging Secondary Students with Disabilities. During this session participants will view and discuss three short informational videos regarding the resource including strategies to identify who is missing; re-engage students; and continue dropout prevention efforts. Each section will include research-based guiding steps, a deeper dive into additional information, and an opportunity for users to identify their own next steps. The steps and additional information reflect culturally responsive and sustaining practices, critical to working with populations most impacted during the pandemic. Presenters will also facilitate participants' solution sharing. The purpose is to support school- and district-level practitioners, families, and administrators in efforts to reclaim successful educational experiences for secondary students with disabilities and their families most negatively impacted by events since 2020.

Training Objectives:

  • Describe strategies to identify students who have left high school without receiving a diploma.
  • Identify methods for implementing culturally responsive and sustaining practices to re-engage students in an educational program through graduation.
  • Identify research-based practices to maintain ongoing dropout prevention.
